Pavilions of Harrogate - Weddings

Civil Ceremonies

Weddings and Partnerships

If you are looking for an alternative to a church or a registry office to get married, or renew your vows, we have rooms approved for ceremonies.

We can advise you which room will be best suited to your numbers of guests and of any room hire charge that might apply.

We will provisionally hold your chosen date for you until you have checked the registrar’s availability.

You can contact the local, Harrogate register office to check their fees and availability by calling 0845 034 9480 or by e-mailing registrars.harrogate@northyorks.gov.uk

Blessings and Spiritual Celebrations

If you would like some kind of spiritual aspect to your day, or you both have different religious beliefs (or none), a good compromise is to have a civil ceremony followed by a spiritual ceremony or religious blessing. Alternatively you could be married in one religious tradition and then have an individually devised, spiritual ceremony or blessing complete with, if you wish, music, words and rituals.

Alternatively, you may have chosen not to get married in church as you want the freedom of a civil ceremony at Pavilions of Harrogate, but are keen to have the marriage recognised in some spiritual manner.

A spiritual ceremony or a blessing is a great way to inject a reverent and joyful dimension into an otherwise fairly secular occasion, a more spiritual way of symbolising the strength of your commitment to one another.

When organising a blessing or ceremony the first thing you need to do is speak to the person you want to officiate. We can recommend a wedding celebrant with over 35 years experience, Stephen Brown, or you may prefer to contact a person you know who is a recognised official of whatever religious tradition you favour. To contact Stephen Brown please visit www.civilcelebrant.co.uk.
